Idols. Witchcraft. Revival.

We were created to worship. It’s how God designed us. And all of us worship something. We have a God-given free will and we get to choose who or what we worship.  As worshipers, probably the greatest model (besides Jesus) we have in Scripture is the life of King David. He’s called the man after God’s own heart. From his humble beginnings as a shepherd boy to the warrior-king he became, David provides the most profound example of what it is to be a worshiper (and a worship leader). But before David comes Saul. And everyone who desires to be like David with a heart that is wholly after God will first have to deal with "Saul." Not a person, but a spirit. Every "David" has to pass the "Saul Test."  Saul was God’s chosen and anointed one to be the first king of Israel... until 1 Samuel 15. The true posture of Saul’s heart is reveled in a moment of failure. As a result, God rejects him as king. However, Saul remains king for about 10-15 more years. You ca

Sight + Sound

“Release the sights and sounds of Heaven!” In June 2021, as I was preparing a message to share with the worship and media team I lead, I felt God drop two words into my spirit: “sight” and “sound.” As recorded in Genesis, we initially meet God in a creative expression of sight and sound.  Genesis 1:1-3 NKJV 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. First God speaks—He releases a sound—and at the sound of His voice, everything changes! His sound gives brith to life in the universe. And guess what. He’s given you that same ability to release a sound! You have a mouth and a tongue and vocal cords, and when you use them, you have the capacity to co-create with God.  One SOUND from Heaven can change everything. Scripture declares the power of life and death is in the po

Home Of A Craftsman

We’re in a season where God is breathing on the creative in a unique way. In fact, I believe God can use our creative expressions as a catalyst for revival! The prophet Zechariah tells us that when the people of Judah were in despair with no hope left, the craftsman (or the creatives) came to defeat the powers of darkness. Never underestimate the power of creativity. It’s a spiritual weapon that terrifies the enemy! For more on this, check out these previous posts: “BUT THE CRAFTSMEN” and “WHEN IN WAR, CREATE.” And see Zechariah 1:18-21 and 2:1-5. With the exception of a few verses, we know almost nothing about Jesus's earthly childhood and adolescence. There are 30 years - over 10,000 days - of events from His life that are unrecorded in Scripture. But there is one detail about the early years of Jesus that we are privileged to know: God chose Joseph to be Jesus's earthly father, and Joseph was a carpenter... a craftsman.  God specifically chose the home of a craftsman
